Sime Darby Property rocks City of Elmina with Xplore Elmina Carnival 2015
Wellness and Liveability of City of Elmina sets the benchmark in township living

Selangor, 30 May 2015 - Sime Darby Property celebrated the official opening of City of Elmina, the flagship wellness hub comprising several townships in Klang Valley offering residents elements of true wellness and enriched living which is set to further enhance today’s lifestyle.

City of Elmina encompasses a stretch spanning 5,000 acres of landbank that includes townships of Denai Alam, Bukit Subang, Elmina East and Elmina West, North and South. While some townships have already been developed, Elmina East is the latest township under the umbrella.

In conjunction with the official launch of the city, the company organised the ‘Xplore Elmina Carnival 2015’ to add zest and fanfare to the joyous occasion, which offered various wellness and fun initiatives for the public to enjoy such as the Mountain Bike (MTB) Jamboree and Race, a Flea Market, Food Trucks, Concert and Fun Carnival.

The Mayor of Shah Alam, YBhg Dato’ Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad and Senior Vice President, Property Malaysia, Mohd Salem Kailany were present to officiate the event and flag off the MTB Jamboree & Race, the first event to kick start the day.

The MTB Jamboree & Race event received an overwhelming response from the public, with more than one thousand enthusiastic participants from different age groups. The activity was divided into two categories - race and jamboree - on a specially designed off-road course spanning a distance of 41km and 35km respectively within the vicinity, highlighting its scenic and lush trail that surrounds the picturesque township. Winners walked away with cash and other attractive prizes.

The programme of the day ensued with a tour of City of Elmina with members of the media and Senior Vice President, Property Malaysia, Mohd Salem Kailany.

Mohd Salem commented, “City of Elmina is designed with the principle of wellness and liveability in mind, enriching the lives of the community and offering the utmost serenity to its residents.”

“City of Elmina further pushes the envelope in the development of sustainable communities, going beyond the usual eco-friendly gestures and embracing wellness in its entirety, to create a well-balanced living environment for a vibrant and healthy growing urban community,” he added.

An exclusive concert, featuring performances from popular artistes such as Anuar Zain, Amy Search, Jaclyn Victor, Hafiz Suip, Suki and Altimet was the pinnacle event of the ‘Xplore Elmina Carnival 2015’ and draws the curtain for the day’s activities.

The City of Elmina was also the final stop for Sime Darby Property’s 2015 Lifestyle Collection tour, a property showcase in the developer’s Lifestyle Collection campaign, presenting a series of properties for discerning buyers. Both existing and first-time buyers enjoyed privileges and rewards when purchasing a home during the campaign.

Located along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, the City of Elmina offers seamless inter-connectivity and accessibility.

One of City of Elmina’s most charming feature is the 300-acre Elmina Central Park, dedicated to the treasured 2,700-acre tropical forest reserve adjacent to the township.

The element of wellness in the township continues with its distinctive amenities, which will include a 90-kilometer cycling and jogging track; one of the longest track in the country plus a wellness community complex for the community’s social activity needs. Safety and security of residents are also a priority from the design stage.

The township is also developed in line with an international standard, the Mercer’s Quality of Living Survey, which measures “liveability” in terms of safety, education, hygiene, culture and environment, among others.
