Elmina Interchange is now open, enhancing connectivity to Sime Darby Property’s City of Elmina

SHAH ALAM, 8 January 2018 – The new Elmina Interchange was launched today to provide residents of the award-winning City of Elmina and Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) users with enhanced accessibility to various areas of the city and surrounding locations.

The Elmina Interchange will be officially opened to the public at 10pm today. Public access to the Elmina Interchange is made possible upon completion of road infrastructure at the City of Elmina, involving a substantial investment of RM66 million by Sime Darby Property.

The launch of the interchange was officiated by Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority Datuk Ir. Haji Ismail Md. Salleh, accompanied by Ministry of Works Secretary of Development and Implementation Dato’ Embok Masek Md Taher, Prolintas Group CEO Dato’ Mohammad Azlan Abdullah and Sime Darby Property Chief Operating Officer Dato’ Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri.

The Elmina Interchange, located at Exit 3504 of the GCE, was built by Prolintas and completed when the expressway was opened to the public. Sime Darby Property constructed new roads connecting the townships of Denai Alam and Bukit Subang to Elmina West at the City of Elmina leading to the interchange and subsequently the GCE, at a cost of approximately RM22 million.

The developer also invested RM44 million in roads connecting Subang Bestari to the GCE via the Elmina East township.

Wan Hashimi Albakri said, “Connectivity is a hallmark of Sime Darby Property developments and reinforces the strength of our townships, apart from being self-sustainable and positioned in strategic locations. It serves as a catalyst for the growth of our townships and communities, elevating our value proposition. We would like to thank the Malaysian Highway Authority and Prolintas for enhancing the City of Elmina’s connectivity through the Elmina Interchange, and we are pleased to contribute by completing vital road networks at the township.”

In addition to enhancing access to the City of Elmina, the interchange is set to help resolve traffic congestion at the Denai Alam and Bukit Subang townships during peak hours by improving traffic dispersion.

The interchange also strings together the Denai Alam, Bukit Subang, Elmina West and Elmina East townships, enabling convenient and quick access for residents to enjoy unique facilities and services available at each of the different townships.
City of Elmina is a 5,000-acre themed township development by Sime Darby Property with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM27 billion and includes the Denai Alam, Bukit Subang, Elmina East and Elmina West townships.

Among City of Elmina’s features are the 300-acre Elmina Central Park and 90 kilometres cycling and jogging track; one of the longest tracks in the country. Located along the GCE, the City of Elmina offers seamless inter-connectivity and accessibility.

Upcoming launches at the City of Elmina for 2018 include double-storey link homes and semi-D residential units in Denai Alam and the second phase of Elmina Green double-storey link homes in Elmina West.
