KL East Mall Takes Visitors on a Cultural Journey this Chinese New Year through Its ‘Lunar Courtyard’

Welcoming the Year of the Dragon, KL East Mall’s Main Atrium has been transformed into a nostalgic ‘Lunar Courtyard’, which takes inspiration from the Chinese residence of yesteryears. The courtyard is traditionally a space where families bond over household activities and unwind in the embrace of nature’s beauty.

Welcoming the Year of the Dragon, KL East Mall dazzles in the décor department with its stunning themed installations.

From today until 18 February 2024, KL East Mall transports visitors on a cultural journey with influences from nature and serenity, with classic elements such as cherry blossoms, peonies, bamboo shoots and lanterns. These Instagram-worthy setups help create an even more auspicious atmosphere for the Year of the Dragon with vintage benches where guests can relax and enjoy the soothing sound of flowing water.

Acrobatic lion dance performances are a must-see during Chinese New Year, and therefore KL East Mall has engaged the multi-award-winning lion dance troupe, Kwong Ngai Lion Dance to delight patrons with weekly heart-stomping performances.

Continuing the Chinese New Year spirit are Wushu demonstrations, instrumental music and oriental cultural dance arrangements, as well as LED drum, dragon and lion dance performances. KL East Mall also invites shoppers to meet the God of Prosperity as he shares blessings and wishes prosperity for all.

For last-minute festive shoppers, a variety of options await, ranging from flavourful cookies and beverages to festive attire from established local brands. Explore a wide range of brands such as H&M, Levi’s, HLA, Steve Madden, Sembonia, Kapten Batik and Kaufmann for their interesting collections of apparels and accessories. Patrons can also take a break from their retail therapy by dining at the mall, with various options such as A’Decade, Cafe Chef Wan, Dolly Dim Sum, Malayan Cookhouse, Sushi Zanmai, Absolute Thai, K Fry Urban Korean, Ole Ole Bali and more.
