Prioritising the maintenance and improvement of safety performance.
Sime Darby Property places the greatest importance on the well-being and safety of its workforce with the nature of our business involving a number of occupational health and safety risks. Poor performance in environmental management and occupational safety and health can significantly impact lives as well as organisation productivity, quality, and delivery of products and services.
The ESH Divisional Roadmap outlines our journey towards achieving a Level 5 Safety Culture by the year 2020. To continually make measurable improvements in ESH aspects of our business we are committed to:
Zero harm to employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate
To conduct our business in a way that minimises risks to the environment
To comprehensively integrate ESH into all of our business activities
Demonstrate industry leadership in ESH performance
All employees are covered under the Sime Darby Property ESH management system (OHSAS 18001:2007 and MS1722:2011, ISO14001:2004). Under this system we internally verify that all employees, supervised employees and independent contractors comply with our ESH policies and processes. We have also externally verified that 75% of our workforce complies with these processes.
Education and training related to assisting workforce members, their families, or community members regarding serious diseases and ESH risks are provided in appropriate language and pictorial format, during formal training, campaigns and roadshows.
